Snap Drape Moves To New Facility

Carrollton, Texas Snap Drape International has moved its operation to a new manufacturing facility located at 2045 Westgate Drive, Suite 100, Carrollton, Texas. The new 43,839 sq. ft. (3,794 sq. m) building increases Snap Drape’s manufacturing space by 50%. “Our new building affords us the opportunity to expand to meet the future needs of the growing markets that we serve,” says Darrin Garlish, president of Snap Drape.
Snap Drape International is a leading manufacturer of table and stage skirting products in the hospitality and exhibit industries.
Rational AG Wins First Prize
Landsberg Am Lech, Germany Rational AG was named best small-batch manufacturer at the “Factory Of the Year/German GEO Award.” The accolade was awarded by Produkton magazine and corporate consultants A.T. Kearney.
The award was judged on Rational’s consistent use of targets and performance management, its excellent integration, and its outstanding resource management. “We are especially pleased with this award, because for the first time, our consistently reengineered production process is being recognized along with our leading products,” says Dr. Günter Blaschke, CEO of Rational AG.

Schönwald Wins Award: Restructures Internet Site
Schönwald, Germany Schönwald has won the design prize for its most recent creation, the PREMIERE china concept, which was created by Adam D. Tihany, New York, from iF Design Award 2000 in Hannover. Because of this award, Schönwald can display this shape at the EXPO 2000 in Hannover and present it to visitors from all over the world.
Schönwald has restructured its homepage giving its visitors an opportunity to enter Schönwald’s showroom to view its china, inspect catalogs, order online, watch production of Schönwald china in an animated presentation, and download images and texts directly to their own PC for further use.
Hilton Chooses VingCard Vision
Surabaya, Indonesia General manager Nizar Sugkar with VingCard’s Rudy Siauw, director of PT Sekurindo Perkasa, celebrate the installation of the VingCard 3000 Vision locking system at the 124-room Patra Surabaya Hilton International Hotel. The hotel is the first in the city of Surabaya to install the system and the second in Indonesia after the Bali Hilton Indonesia.

Prologic, Tims, Form Merger
Evry, France Two French-based technology firms, Prologic, a leader of integrated management software for the hotel industry and Tims, a leader in revenue management systems, announced their merger to create a new group, OPTIMS.
With the merger, OPTIMS is now an European leader in revenue and management solutions for the hotel and tourism industry. OPTIMS is now able to propose the first integrated IT management systems with piloting tools and marketing database to the hospitality industry.
WAT&G Takes Top Honors
Newport Beach, California Twenty-two projects designed by Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WAT&G) were chosen as the best in the world in a comprehensive survey conducted by Condé Nast Traveler magazine. The following hotels were rated with superlative scores by discriminating travelers: The Grand Hyatt, Bali; Four Seasons Resort Maui, Hawaii; The Palace of the Lost City, South Africa; and the Ritz-Carlton resorts in St. Thomas, Palm Beach, Amelia Island, Naples and Pasadena. The survey of nearly 27,000 respondents was administered by Conde Nast Traveler and tabulated by Mark Clements Research Inc. Hotels and resorts were evaluated not just by theirs rooms and service, but also on the basis of their ambience, their setting and their facilities.
Carlisle Plans To Purchase Dura-Ware
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Carlisle FoodService Products announces that it has signed a letter of intent to purchase Dura-Ware Company of America Inc.
Since 1945, Dura-Ware has provided an extensive line of aluminum and stainless steel cookware, serving utensils, and buffet pieces to the international foodservice industry. “The acquisition of Dura-Ware, a long-time leader in the supply of high-quality metal ware, is an excellent addition to our foodservice product line. It allows us to further increase the level of service we provide to our customers,” stated David M. Shannon, president and CEO of Carlisle.
Currently, the two companies are in a period of due diligence. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. A closing of the transaction is subject to execution of a definitive agreement and receipt of all necessary approvals.
