GSA Evergreen Award Presented To Southern Aluminum
MAGNOLIA, ARKANSAS
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) National Furniture
Center recently presented the 2006 GSA Evergreen Award in the
furniture category to Southern Aluminum. The company manufactures
Alulite folding tables, MardiGras tables, iDesign training tables,
Alulite portable stages and Southern Piknik tables and benches,
all of which are on GSA contract. All of Southern Aluminum's products
are crafted from 100% recyclable aluminum, which makes them both
lightweight and durable. The company takes great strides in waste
prevention, recycling and affirmative procurement to manufacture
a durable, sustainable product.
IHG Partners With Supply Chain Management LLC
ATLANTA InterContinental
Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a fiveyear contract with Supply
Chain Management LLC (SCM) to manage its supply chain function.
SCM's responsibilities will include North America, Central America,
South America and the Caribbean. Financial terms of the contract
were not disclosed.
SCM will manage the supply chain function for both IHG's corporate
and owned/managed hotel portfolio, including sourcing, negotiating,
contracting and interfacing with suppliers to maintain cost and
quality control. In addition, SCM will manage the relationship
with IHG's procurement service company. SCM staff serving the
account will be housed on-site at IHG offices in Atlanta, New
York and Miami.

ORLANDO Safemark
Systems has kicked off 2007 with recordbreaking sales, including
its largest Hilton Hotels Corp. order for 1,639 guestroom safes
for the Palmer House in Chicago since signing an agreement with
Hilton earlier this year. In the first quarter the company also
installed in its in-room safes in the Waldorf =Astoria in New
York City. In addition, Safemark celebrated its first D5.1 Drawer
Safe (l.) installation at the Renaissance Times Square in New
York, which is undergoing an extensive renovation.
Impex, Whirlpool Join Forces To Create Eco-Efficient Interiors
