Hot Promotions - Westin Sells Heavenly Beds Through Nordstrom

By Staff -- HOTELS Magazine, 5/1/2005

Westin Hotels & Resorts' custom designed, signature line of luxury, all-white bedding is now available in nearly 50 Nordstrom stores throughout the United States. The stores' At Home departments feature specially designed display areas dedicated to the Heavenly Bed At Home collection, and Nordstrom At Home sales people have undergone special "bed intense" training sessions during which participants spent time in the beds to experience the 10 layers of luxury.

The Heavenly Bed At Home collection is priced from $35-$300 for linens and from $1,250-$1,450 for the pillow-top mattress, which features Simmons' Beautyrest(R) Pocketed Coil(R) construction. The entire 10-layer ensemble, including 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, a lightweight goose down blanket, jacquard duvet filled with a down insert, a host of feather down sleeping pillows and a silky boudoir pillow, is priced from $3,115 - $3,615.

Since the Heavenly Bed's 1999 introduction, more than 30,000 guests have taken the bed and linens home through Westin's in-room catalogue and Web site. Through the relationship with Nordstrom, Westin hopes to capture a larger share of the $60 million hotel retail market.
