Hot Promotions; Wireless TVs Let Guests Stay Connected Poolside at Las Ventanas al Paraiso

By Staff -- HOTELS Magazine, 4/1/2005

LOS CABOS, Baja California, Mexico -- Las Ventanas al Paraiso, the Rosewood resort that was the first to offer iPods poolside, is again leading the way in the international resort community by being the first to offer another new high-tech amenity that anticipates the lifestyle and needs of today’s guest.

Sony’s recently released LocationFree™ TVs are lightweight broadband wireless televisions allowing guests to watch their favorite programs or a DVD, as well as surf the web, send emails and receive digital photos, while they bask in the sun. Available at poolside, they are private, compact and portable entertainment and communication systems for guests, which are operated with headsets so as not to disturb other guests.

LocationFree TV is the first product to use a dual-band wireless connection and high-speed internet port to transmit data; they combine functions that would normally require both a television and a PC. They are very user friendly via a simple touch-screen operation on the 12.1-inch LCD monitor; when on the internet, an onscreen keyboard appears on the monitor. A special feature is the ‘Capture’ button allowing you to freeze and save what’s on the screen, such as the image of an actor, a recipe or a 1-800 number.
