Hot Opening: Fiji Beach Resort & Spa
By Staff -- HOTELS Magazine, 7/1/2006
The 219-guestroom Fiji Beach Resort & Spa Managed by Hilton opened recently on Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu.
Mediterranean architecture, contemporary design and light-filled public and private spaces give the property its personality. Furniture and accessories include leather rugs and boxes, dark timber battens and accents, and sweeping canvas blinds.
Beachfront guestrooms contain a European-designed kitchen as well as outdoor living space to embrace the view of the water. Interiors feature American black walnut timber, leather, wicker, bronze, shell and taupe tiled flooring.
Other facilities now include five oceanfront pools and eight accompanying plunge pools, the nuku restaurant (nuku is Fijian for “sand”) and a spa and gymnasium. When phase two is complete (expected in 2008), the resort will feature additional bars and eateries, boardroom and conference facilities, a business center, a retail center and additional swimming pools.
