Hot Opening: Mandarin Oriental, Prague

By Staff -- HOTELS Magazine, 2/1/2007

The stone gates of a former 14th century Dominican monastery, now the 99-room Mandarin Oriental, Prague, opened in mid-September.

The property, Mandarin Oriental’s first venture into Eastern Europe, consists of three buildings centered around a peaceful garden. The hotel’s historical features include vaulted ceilings, Baroque columns and arched windows. These are complemented by natural materials, contemporary furniture and subtle Asian touches.

Special places in the hotel include the Baroque dining room and the spa, which was developed over two floors on the site of a small Renaissance church.
