Hot Opening: The Placencia Hotel

By Staff -- HOTELS Magazine, 4/1/2007

The Placencia Hotel, named after one of Belize’s coastal villages, opened in May. All 32 rooms are bungalow-style, directly on the beach. Accommodations range from open studios to different size suites. Inspired by Spanish-Mediterranean influences, the property features polished local tile floors and imported marble bathrooms.

The hotel’s villas are fully air-conditioned, and each room comes with kitchen facilities. The property also offers 24-hour roomservice, a 10,000-bottle wine cellar, roving high-speed Internet access, private Jacuzzis and plasma televisions.
