-- Hotels, 3/1/2008

LAS VEGASIHG plans a new-build 386-room Crowne Plaza hotel in Las Vegas, expected to open in 2010. The hotel will be located just west of major casinos on the Las Vegas Strip and a short drive from McCarran International Airport.

The Asian-themed Crowne Plaza will include a casino, three restaurants, three lounges, a full-service spa and outdoor swimming pool, as well as a fitness center, business center and retail.

The hotel will offer 16,000 sq. ft. (1,486 sq. m) of meeting and banquet space. Complimentary wired and wireless Internet will be available throughout the hotel. The hotel is owned and managed by Andrew Lai under a licensing agreement.

“Las Vegas has seen exceptional growth in population and tourism over the past decade,” says Gina LaBarre, vice president of brand management for Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, the Americas. “The world-famous gaming resorts and thriving convention industry bring in tens of thousands of visitors a year, making this a great location for an upscale meetings-savvy brand like Crowne Plaza.”
