Recent Lower Manhattan hotel developments and projects in the pipeline…
• Manhattan Seaport Suites has been converted into The Exchange Hotel after the rooms were renovated and common areas redesigned
• Hampton Inn Manhattan/Seaport-Financial District reopens under Hersha Hospitality Management
• LaSalle Hotel Properties buys Holiday Inn Wall Street; the hotel is set to undergo an 18-month, US$60 million renovation and will be repositioned as a luxury independent
• Goldman Sachs purchases the 463-room Embassy Suites Hotel for US$300 million
• The 53-story W New York-Downtown Hotel & Residences, planned for 123 Washington St., will feature meeting rooms, a spa, a fitness center, a restaurant and a sky lobby. It will have 217 guestrooms and 222 residential units.
• A 36-story boutique condo-hotel is planned for 75 Wall St. It will offer 251 guestrooms and 350 residential units.
• A 370-room Holiday Inn is planned for 99 Washington St.
• Time Equities plans a 160-room boutique hotel-condominium for 50 West St.
• A 660-room Sheraton is under construction at 217 Pearl St. It will have ballrooms, conference facilities and rooftop bar
• A 26-story limited-service hotel is planned for 126 Water St.
• A 36-story hotel is planned for at 99 Washington St.
• A 39-story hotel with meeting rooms, restaurant, spa and fitness center is planned for 100 Greenwich St.
• A 35-story limited-service hotel is planned for 50 Trinity Place.
• A 20-story, 113-room Wyndham Garden hotel is planned for 20 Maiden Lane
• A 20-story, 400-room luxury full-service hotel with conference facilities is planned for 8 Stone St.
• A 39-story, 350-room hotel is slated for 33 Beekman St.
