-- Hotels, 3/5/2008 8:55:00 AM
Encompassed in four European-style villas, The Angler’s Boutique Resort in Miami Beach, Florida, is an intimate resort focusing on genuine comfort and service. Accommodations are comprised of 49 suites and villas, several with outdoor showers, terraces, rooftop decks and private water features. The Angler’s is located two blocks from the white-sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
Amenities include plasma TVs, DVD players, iPod docking stations with hardwired surround sound extending to the showers and high-speed Internet access. Each guestroom includes a wet bar with a stainless-steel sink, microwave and mini-fridge. The pet-friendly resort also has 24-hour concierge service. The resort’s signature French restaurant, Maison d’Azur, evokes a chic St. Tropez vibe.
The Angler’s hired famed designer Wallace Tutt, who agreed to his first creative undertaking in South Beach since the death of Gianni Versace, whose Ocean Drive mansion he designed. But unlike his elaborate environments at the mansion, Tutt went back to basics at The Angler’s. The transformation of this historic Washington Avenue enclave echoes an earlier era, when hotels strived for cozy elegance. Built in 1930, the historic enclave has a nostalgic Chateau Marmont-style glamour.
The Angler’s is managed by Boutique Hospitality Management. Room rates range from US$250 to US$1,250.
