The New hotelsmag.com

-- Hotels, 3/24/2008 2:11:00 PM

Welcome to the new and improved template for hotelsmag.com. The editors and entire staff of HOTELS magazine are very excited to launch this new look and hope you enjoy the new features, navigation tools and sophisticated design.

Here is a walk-through of the new hotelsmag.com:

1. The navigation tools are now featured horizontally across the top of the page. You can find any of the functions from the previous template under the navigation tools, and now you will find a little bit more, such as new bloggers and “hot topic” channels.

2. We are introducing three new bloggers this month with more to come in the near future. Today we have Bob Puccini focusing on food and beverage; Scott van Hartesvelt on e-marketing solutions; and Lyndall De Marco on “green” hotelkeeping. Each one is a leading authoritiy in their field and we expect them to update their blogs weekly.

3. Just a little bit below the “fold” of the home page you will find six “hot topic” channels, including food & beverage, design, marketing, technology, “green” hotelkeeping and finanance & investment. These channels will be updated daily with the latest news and analysis.

4. The “Featured Stories” will also be updated daily and will include breaking global hotel news as well as thoughtful trend reports and research.

5. You will also find all the regular features you have come to expect from hotelsmag.com, including daily updates about “Hoteliers on the Move;” stunning images and information about “Hot Openings;” all the latest data, including performance data, news about big deals and soon to come we will have regularly updated research on the supply pipeline from Lodging Econometrics.

Of course, with any dot.com venture, this is a work in progress and we look forward to adding new, exciting features in the months to come. You can help us decide what to add to hotelsmag.com by providing feedback. Please use the TalkBack feature at the bottom of this page to tell us what you like, dislike and what you still need from hotelsmag.com. If you prefer to email, don’t hesitate to write me at jweinstein@reedbusiness.com.

Until then, I wish you good reading, good fortune and peace.
