Four Seasons Goes To Sea

Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts is delving even deeper into the private residences game with the creation of Four Seasons Ocean Residences, 112 private homes aboard a 720-ft.-long (220-m), 13-deck cruise liner that will travel the globe, stopping at historic cities and remote hideaways. The projected delivery date for the vessel launch is 2010.
Partnering with Miami-based Ocean Development Group on the concept, Four Seasons will operate the vessel post-launch, offering all the services and amenities expected from the luxury brand. Until then, Ocean Development is handling the sales and marketing of the 1- through 4- bedroom units.
In addition to the residences—which will be accessed through 5-ft. (1.5-m) wide corridors running through the interior of the vessel, affording each residence unrestricted views and spacious terraces—the ship also will offer nearly 70,000 sq. ft. (6,503 sq. m) of public areas This includes the main lobby, home to the reception area and concierge services, as well as various spaces for dining (four on-ship restaurants) and recreation (a number of lounges, plus a seven-treatment room spa, swimming pool and fitness center).
An initial two-year itinerary for the ship includes departure from Helsinki, Finland, and stops aligning with major world celebrations, including the 2012 Olympics in London, Carnivale in Rio de Janeiro and the Cannes Film Festival.
