Hilton’s First Ski Property A Waldorf=Astoria

-- Hotels, 4/1/2008

PARK CITY, UTAH— The Waldorf=Astoria Collection and DuVal Development have signed Dakota Mountain Lodge, a Waldorf=Astoria Collection hotel, the luxury brand’s and Hilton Hotels Corp.’s first ski management property. Located in Park City as part of The Canyons, Utah’s largest ski and snowboard resort, the property is scheduled to open in spring 2009.

The 197 guestrooms at Dakota Mountain Lodge will range from studios to a six-bedroom penthouse and will be outfitted with custom Viking appliances, European showers, Jacuzzi tubs, and an outdoor pool and fire feature. Construction will begin on an additional 137 guestrooms and 65 condo units later this year.

Guests will be able to ski-in/ski-out to The Canyons’ slopes with personal ski valets escorting their equipment to and from the gondola. For après ski, guests may indulge at Golden Door Spa, consisting of 20 treatment rooms, an elaborate fitness center and a full beauty salon.

The resort will offer activities throughout the spring, summer and fall, including horseback riding and fly fishing. Additionally, The Canyons is adding an 18-hole mountain golf course that will surround Dakota Mountain Lodge.

Financing for the lodge is being provided by Goldman Sachs.
