XYZ Bar at W San Francisco Debuts ECOLICIOUS

Outlet features daily cocktail hour with eco-friendly drinks and organic bar bites

-- Hotels, 3/28/2008 9:42:00 AM

Michael Pace, General Manager of W San Francisco, is pleased to announce the kick-off of ECOLICIOUS—the first of a number of new eco-fun programs designed to put W San Francisco’s best green foot forward in 2008. ECOLICIOUS puts the W spin on organic-chic cocktailing, with a groovy green organic drink menu and farm-to-table bites. San Francisco scenesters and green-thumbs alike will delight in this hip new eco-chic cocktail hour.

“We know that people in San Francisco like to have a good time when they get off of work, but we also understand that they like to do what they can to better the environment and the world we live in,” says Michael Pace. “We wanted to create an experience where guests and locals alike will be able to accomplish both of these wishes, and developed the ECOLICIOUS Cocktail Hour.”

Each evening Monday through Friday from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, XYZ Bar and W Cafe will feature a selection of eco-friendly organic cocktails, created by local renowned mixologist H. Joseph Ehrmann, and a variety of biodynamic wines and organic beers handpicked by W bar’s wine director Michael Garcia. To complement the ECOLICIOUS drink list, XYZ’s Executive Chef Paul Piscopo will be offering a menu of organic bar bites such as Asiago Cheese Pizza with Organic Spring Onion & Asparagus and Crisp Polenta with Boquerones & Piquillo Peppers. With the launch of ECOLICIOUS, W San Francisco is pleased offer guests and patrons of the hotel a socially responsible chic alternative to cocktailing.

Guests will be encouraged to have fun with the ECOLICIOUS themed cocktail hour, by showing up with eco-friendly tips to share with others, wearing sustainable clothing, or reusing their cocktail glass each time they enjoy a new beverage. Guests can continue their green evening after ECOLICIOUS by dining on farm-to-table seasonal Californian cuisine in XYZ Restaurant or sip on more organic cocktails from XYZ Bar’s exquisite drink menu. During the month of April, a portion of the proceeds generated during the ECOLICIOUS cocktail hour will benefit Save the Bay Foundation in an effort to raise eco-awareness and celebrate “Earth Day.”

The launch of ECOLICIOUS marks the first of a number of exciting green initiatives being rolled out by W San Francisco and XYZ in 2008. Designed to offer guests and visitors the chance to engage in more eco-conscious activities, the W San Francisco hopes to inspire guests and patrons to have a great time while being green.
