Six Senses Latitude For Ho Chi Minh City

-- Hotels, 4/10/2008 8:11:00 AM

Six Senses’ Hub, Bangkok, April, 2008: Six Senses Resorts & Spas is to develop a property to be named Six Senses Latitude Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City, it was announced following the signing of the agreement made between Six Senses and the Vietnam Owning Company – Hai Dung Limited.

The project, located just a 20-minute power boat ride from the heart of the city will offer 150 guest accommodations including villas and pool villas. All villas will offer every personal comfort whilst embracing the Six Senses eco-commitment and core purpose of creating innovative and enriching experiences in a sustainable environment.

Vietnamese-styled boats will transfer guests to the resort, during which time arrival formalities will be completed. Personal butlers will welcome guests at the jetty. Guests will be provided with personal bicycles during their stay at the resort.

Dining and refreshment concepts being developed include a Vietnamese restaurant that would recreate traditional dishes while introducing creative interpretations of popular specialties; an exceptional French heritage restaurant that could transport diners to a bygone era of romance and inspired service; and a trendy riverside bar reflecting the ambience of a century-old den and a Farmers Sala located in the rice fields.

Much of the produce will be sourced from suppliers in the local region, with a plan to establish a cooperative to provide organic vegetables, fruit and salad for the resort. This approach endorses Six Senses’ innovation by decreasing the environmental impact of transporting produce, whilst increasing socio-economic value to the local community.

As with every Six Senses property, a Six Senses Spa will be a key element, where personal sensory journeys are created by skilled international therapists. A core menu of signature Six Senses treatments offered by more that thirty award-winning Six Senses Spas around the world will be augmented with Vietnamese specialties.

With the completion of the resort in 2009, over 300 new host roles will have been established within the community, with comprehensive training programmes providing the highest level of personalized service for guests and skill enhancements for each host’s career path.
