Preferred Hotel Group Announces Strong Growth In Mexico

-- Hotels, 4/21/2008 7:50:00 AM

MEXICO CITY, April 18, 2008 – Preferred Hotel Group is delighted to announce the addition of eight new member properties comprising 2,343 rooms to their portfolio in Mexico which now totals 24 hotels and 4,960 rooms. Comprised of five brands, Preferred Hotels® & Resorts, Preferred Boutique™, Summit Hotels & Resorts™, Sterling Hotels™, and Historic Hotels of America™, the company provides hoteliers with a range of brands that best fit their property and sales needs, while offering travelers an enticing variety of options that vary from ultra luxurious to intimate havens, from ideal meeting and convention destinations to smart value options. Supported by an extensive network of 28 offices worldwide, expert leadership in every region, and an unmatched menu of services and resources for independent hotels, the multi-brand strategy has been a success. According to top executives, Mexico is a key market for continued growth.

“Preferred Hotel Group is very focused on expanding our presence in Mexico in all brands, as well as driving increased sales both to and from this dynamic market,” said Susan Devine, Area Managing Director – Latin America and Caribbean. “Strong  partnerships with companies like AMResorts and Quinta Real are a testament to our focus on delivering results for our hotels.”

A pronounced concentration on sales differentiates Preferred Hotel Group from the competition. The esteemed publication Business Travel News just reported that buyers rated Preferred Hotels & Resorts as the best for corporate travel programs in the Deluxe category, beating out brands like Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton. It was the only brand dedicated to independent luxury hotels ranked in the survey results.

The new members joining Preferred Hotels & Resorts, a collection of the finest luxury hotels in the world, are Secrets Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya and Secrets Silversands in the Riviera Cancun, both AMResorts properties, Casa Dorada Los Cabos in Cabo San Lucas, and El Mundo Imperial in Acapulco.

“We are very pleased to expand our relationship with the Preferred Hotel Group family and to offer more Secrets’ Unlimited-Luxury® experiences in new romantic and tropical destinations in Mexico to our valued Preferred guests,” said Alex Zozaya, CEO and president of AMResorts, provider of sales, marketing and brand management services to Secrets, Dreams and Sunscape Resorts & Spas.  ‘We are certain that our guests will fall in love with the new properties that are designed to exceed all expectations, and we look forward to continuing a long and mutually beneficial partnership with the Preferred team.”

“The alliance between Mundo Imperial and Preferred Hotel Group represents a strategic effort; their connectivity network, powerful sales team and technological advances will help us reach our goals as a company. We’re selling unforgettable and unrepeatable experiences for our guests, clients and visitors and that matches beautifully with the Preferred Hotels & Resorts brand”, said Enrique Calderón, Sales and Marketing Director, Mundo Imperial.

Aura Cozumel Resort Wyndham Grand Bay and La Puertecita Boutique Hotel in San Miguel de Allende are the newest additions to Preferred Boutique, joining Ceiba del Mar on the Riviera Maya, Villa Premiere in Puerto Vallarta and Las Alamandas on the Pacific coast south of Puerto Vallarta in the growing collection of intimate luxury retreats.

The new members joining Summit Hotels & Resorts are The Bel Air Collection in Cancun and Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Spa in Puerto Vallarta. The company looks forward to announcing the first Sterling Hotels member in Mexico soon.
