Hilton: Travel Should Feed Your Appetite

By Derek Gale, Senior Associate Editor -- Hotels, 4/23/2008 10:55:00 AM

For food connoisseurs on the move in the United States, Hilton Hotels has collaborated with the Food Network to offer the Food Network Travel Package, featuring a locally- or regionally-inspired culinary treat delivered to the guestroom upon arrival, as well as a travel guide full of tasty destinations, as seen on the Food Network’s array of travel shows.Hilton Atlanta Food Network Travel Package Welcome Amenity

Other amenities include a Food Network tote bag complete with a Food Network Kitchens cookbook and a compilation DVD of Food Network show highlights. The package is available in 18 U.S. cities at participating hotels.

“Travel should feed your appetite and your soul,” says Jeff Diskin, senior vice president of brand management, Hilton Hotels and Resorts. “Locally-inspired food and beverage treats are a great welcome to our food-loving guests, and a delectable start to the culinary experiences at our hotels.”

To kick off the package, Hilton solicited culinary welcome amenities from each of the hotels in the 18 participating cities for a chance at a grand prize. The winning entry, seen and described below, was submitted by Chef Noni at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines.Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines Food Network Travel Package Welcome Amenity

Enjoy a fun chocolate display featuring a chocolate sauté pan with fresh berries “flambéed” with a sugar flame resting upon an expertly made tableside stove, paired with an Amaretto sauce presented in a mini chocolate cup to drizzle over the fruit. This display is made complete with a friandise selection of tuxedo-dipped strawberries and truffles and is accompanied by a small bottle of champagne.
