Schmid Relaunching Dolder Grand
-- Hotels, 5/1/2008
ZÜRICH—After closing its doors in July 2004 for an approximate US$400 million transformation, the 173-room Dolder Grand in Zurich is reopening under the direction of Managing Director Thomas Schmid, who joined the hotel in 2006. The refurbishment includes the restoration of the main building and the addition of a 40,000-sq. ft. (3,716-sq. m) spa, along with new spa and golf wings.
“For more than a century, the hotel has been Zurich's most desirable address for world leaders, celebrities and discerning travelers alike,” Schmid says. “With its exquisite refurbishment near ready to debut, I am privileged to have been a part of almost every detail in this landmark renovation and redesign.”
