Atlantic City Boardwalk Gets First Non-Gaming Hotel Since 1960s

ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY—The Chelsea, the first non-gaming boutique hotel on the Boardwalk to open in Atlantic City since the early 1960s, launches this summer. The newest venture from Curtis Bashaw and Cape Advisors Inc., the Chelsea conjoins Holiday Inn Atlantic City-Boardwalk and Howard Johnson Hotel Atlantic City in the city’s Chelsea district into an elegant, boutique-style luxury property.
The Chelsea features 330 guestrooms, including rooms for guests who prefer a more youthful experience, called Chelsea Lite. The fifth floor will house an upscale rooftop swimming pool with private cabanas, a Stephen Starr restaurant called Chelsea Prime, the terrace lounge, the living room, the bar and the game room. The ground floor of the Chelsea features Sea Spa and outdoor saltwater swimming pool, plus another Starr restaurant called Teplitzky’s.
