Banyan Tree Debuts In Americas

-- Hotels, 5/1/2008

Banyan Tree Mayakoba

MAYAKOBÁ, MEXICO—Banyan Tree Mayakobá, a resort development on the southeast shore of Mexico’s Riviera Maya, is the first property in the Americas for the Banyan Tree luxury brand. Banyan Tree Mayakobá will blend an Asian aesthetic with the local natural environment to create an intimate luxury resort with exclusive whole-ownership opportunities. The resort is scheduled to open in February 2009.

The resort will feature 132 villas with 50 whole-ownership residential opportunities, the Banyan Tree Residences Mayakobá. The villas will include private pools, outdoor tubs and terraces overlooking fairways, lagoons, mangrove, or the ocean. Guests may use the lagoons and canals as one of the resort’s primary modes of transportation.

Owners will have access to all hotel amenities, including Saffron restaurant and the signature Banyan Tree spa pavilions lining the lagoon. The spa will offer treatments that remain true to the Banyan Tree approach of offering Asian holistic therapies with a focus on spiritual, mental and physical harmony. Owners also will have access to the Banyan Tree private beach club.
