For US$225 per hour or US$850 for a full day, guests can get behind the wheel of one of four Land Rover models to learn to navigate ascents, descents, side tilts, rocky terrain and ice.
The sessions take place in Vermont's Green Mountains. In addition to the standard driving class, Equinox also offers a program for children ages 5 to 12 to learn maneuvers on an electric-powered miniature Land Rover. All programs are customized to fit a guest's skill level and interests.
The resort is promoting the driving school to women in particular with a promotion called Stiletto to the Metal, which packages the driving class with a spa treatment. In fact, about 60% of driving class participants are women.
The Land Rover program at Equinox joins similar programs the company sponsors at North Carolina's Biltmore Estate, California's Quail Lodge and Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello near Montréal.
