The Joule, Dallas

-- Hotels, 8/12/2008 10:45:00 AM

The Joule, a Luxury Collection Hotel, has opened in Dallas’ downtown business district. The Joule is housed in the Dallas National Bank building, a 16-story landmark built in the 1920s. as well as an adjoining 10-story tower featuring 129 guestrooms and suites.

The hotel is designed by Adam D. Tihany, featuring bold and modern lines that complement the neo-gothic structure. It includes a new Charlie Palmer restaurant and a cantilevered rooftop pool.

The Joule’s lobby blends contemporary design with restored historic finishes. A black iron rotating gear feature in the back of the lobby serves as the focal point. High columns are enhanced with sweeping dark lime oak beam details that perimeter the room and evoke the framework of oil derricks.

The hotel has 108 guestrooms and 21 suites, including the 1,060-sq.-ft. Loft Deluxe Suites and the 2,587-sq.-ft. Penthouse Suitewith two bedrooms, two terraces overlooking the pool, a kitchen, a pool table, two living areas and rooftop access. Every guestroom features 42-inch plasma screens, touch-screen integrated guest control systems, recessed lighting and original commissioned artwork by Bram Tihany.

Room rates range from US$340 per night for a deluxe room to US$5,000 per night for The Penthouse.
