By Staff -- HOTELS Magazine, 4/1/2007

Hans Wiedemann has been at the helm of Badrutt’s Palace since 2004. For eight years prior, Wiedemann managed and revitalized the famed Le Montreux Palace Hotel in Lake Geneva, Switzerland.

A father of two, Wiedemann graduated from École Hôtelière de Lausanne, where today he remains a member of the advisory board. After various stints in Switzerland, Wiedemann relocated to China in 1991, where he managed a 600-room hotel. Starting in 1980 and again in 1993, he spent more than 13 years managing five top hotels—and some 2,000 employees—in Australia, where he won the national “Excellence in Service” award.

Today, Wiedemann is renowned for his inexhaustible élan and optimism, and is held in high regard for his achievements as Swiss National Delegate of the European Hotel Managers Association. He is also a member of the board of Swiss Deluxe Hotels
