Top 10 Jetsetter Travel Bloggers
May 29, 2008
Today's List of the Day takes a look at some of my "competitors"--other respected travel/tourism/hotel writers--and exactly how many miles they log while traveling for their jobs.
Beyond simple bragging rights, logging a certain number of travel miles or nights spent in hotels may in some people's minds confer a certain level of "expertise" on these subjects. I leave you to be the judge about that.
Anyway, here's the list of the Top 10 Jetsetter Travel Bloggers, based on how many miles they've traveled in the past year, courtesy of VibeAgent and the site's recently launched Facebook application, Jetsetter:
1. Tim Hughes - The BOOT - Business Of Online Travel (144,142 miles)
2. Jens Thraenhart - Tourism Internet Marketing (113,828 miles)
3. Ben Mutzabaugh - USA Today’s “Today in the Sky” (56,202 miles)
4. Juliana Shallcross - HotelChatter (49,506 miles)
5. David Molyneaux - Travel Maven (34,250 miles)
6. Gil Zeimer - Vagablond (19,370 miles)
7. Kevin May- Travolution (18,903 miles)
8. Patti Mangan- TangoDiva (17,649 miles)
9. Chris Clarke - Vacant Ready (15,520 miles)
10. Guillaume Thevenot - Hotel Blogs 2.0 (15,050 miles)
Had I been surveyed, I would have come in at No. 6 on the list, with 21,696 miles traveled in the past year. That said, were I to include my upcoming trips (just in the next 2 months), I would log another 10,000 to 15,000 miles.
