20 Items Under $20? Brilliant!
A press release from The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, just popped into my inbox. It looked to be a typical sort of round-up of offerings release, so I quickly scanned through it.
Something near the bottom caught my eye, however, and made me wonder why it wasn’t up at the top, or sent separately, on its own.
"LAST BUT NOT LEAST- 20 Under $20"
"For the cost-conscious consumer, we offer at least twenty (20) items under $20 every day, and one is free."
A list of the 20 items follows (they are mostly F&B related, with a few exceptions):
$1: Postcard
$2: Cup of Coffee
$3: Sushi
$4: Pot of Café au Lait
$5: French Market Beignets
$6: Jazzed Up Grits
$7: Bread Pudding
$8: Bloody Mary
$9: Gumbo Trio
$10: Bananas Foster
$11: Mint Julep
$12: Crawfish Concierge
$13: Classic Eggs Benedict
$14: Glass of Champagne
$15: Glenmorangie Scotch
$16: Kobe Beef Sliders
$17: Croft 1985 Port
$18: Ashton Robusto Cigar
$19: Spa Fresh Lotion
$20: Peacemaker and BeerFree: Live Jazz
This is an incredibly simple and yet an incredibly intelligent bit of marketing focusing on how the hotel offers value to customers. After all, it got me to write this blog post. Just think about what it might get potential guests to do…
