Outrigger acquisitions take it back to Thailand

KSL Capital Partner’s Outrigger Hospitality Group has acquired three beach resorts in southern Thailand from Manathai Hotels & Resorts. A purchase price has not been disclosed.

Outrigger said it will renovate the former 148-room Manathai Koh Samui, the 158-room Manathai Khao Lak and the 66-room boutique Manathai Surin Phuket before rebranding as Outrigger properties and re-opening by the year-end high season.

“The investment is directly aligned with Outrigger’s strategic business plan to expand its presence in Asia Pacific and beyond, furthering its mission to be the premier beach resort brand in the world,” said Jeff Wagoner, chief executive of Outrigger Hospitality Group, Honolulu. “Our past success in Thailand stemmed from celebrating unique cultural aspects of the destination – which is something that we plan to continue at all three of the new properties.”
