Kerzner International Holdings has entered into an agreement with Mulpha Australia to assume management of Hayman, which will be relaunched as One&Only Hayman Island in April 2014.
The property, located on a private island off the coast of Queensland, will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation starting in January, during which time the resort will close. Kerzner International Holdings, Paradise Island, Bahamas, said planned renovations include reducing the number of guestrooms from 209 to 160 to feature new all-suite living spaces offering either one or two bedrooms. Some suites will provide guests direct access to the pool from private terraces.
“I am thrilled to introduce One&Only to Hayman Island. It is the perfect destination for the first One&Only in Australia and I know the resort will be well received by our many loyal One&Only guests, as well as guests that have been enjoying Hayman for years,” said Alan Leibman, CEO, Kerzner International.
The announcement is the latest expansion for the One&Only brand, as Kerzner announced earlier this year that it will enter Saudi Arabia and Europe.
