Briefs: Do we have new name for Marriott Rewards?

Marriott says Bon Voyage? A user at rewards website One Mile at a Time found on a test server what could be the soon-to-come rebranded Marriott-Starwood website, and it is called Marriott Bonvoy. After the programs merged in August, Marriott said it would announce a new name for its loyalty program and, while the link to the test server wasn’t working by Sunday morning, One Mile at at Time said it found information about a federal trademark registration number filed for Marriott Bonvoy on October 30, 2018. It also reported that it didn’t seem like there were many changes to the current program, other than the renaming of some elite tiers.

Melia-Amazon tieup. Melia Hotels International has started to sell rooms and experiences through Amazon, according to, Buying Business Travel. Users can reportedly buy services by using Melia Rewards gift cards for sale in the UK, Spain, France, Italy and Germany, and it started with a 40% discount during Amazon’s Black Friday sale. Melia rewards members can also exchange points for Amazon gift vouchers.

UK transaction. Bowling Green Asset Management, London, has acquired from investor Aprirose the 98-room Tankersley Manor in South Yorkshire for an undisclosed price. The deal marks the group’s fourth hotel acquisition and its third in the last 12 months as it builds a portfolio of mid-market hotels throughout the UK.
