Openings: San Ysidro Ranch | Forte in Puglia | Faloria

San Ysidro Ranch re-opens: The historic San Ysidro ranch, owned by Beanie Baby mogul Ty Warner, is taking guests again after a 15-month renovation that included rebuilding three of the 41 cottages and its wine cellar. A fire and subsequent mudslides forced closure of the 500-acre property, which has seen guests such as Winston Churchill (he wrote a book there) and John and Jackie Kennedy (they honeymooned there). The underground wine cellar has been restocked with 12,000 bottles and space for 30 guests, decorated in barrel vaulting and French tiles, original artwork and antiques from Warner’s collection.

Faloria Mountain Spa Resort: The renovated and expanded Faloria Mountain Spa Resort, in the Italian alpine town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, has reopened after a renovation led by architect Flaviano Capriotti that included local flora adorning the upholstered headboards; the botanical theme is extended into the spa. A range of rooms including several suites are available with views of the mountains and a 1956-era Olympic ski jump.
