People on the move: Rosewood, Four Seasons, Alila

Rosewood Hotel Group promoted Jared Mintz from director of group sales at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California, to director of global sales for the group. In his new role, Mintz will be responsible for identifying partnership opportunities, increasing brand awareness, driving sales and developing strategies for long-term success with group customers. Mintz’s primary focus will be on West Coast group and corporate client acquisition, as well as entertainment accounts across the United States.

During his three years at Rosewood Miramar Beach, Mintz held a critical role on the property’s pre-opening team. He also developed an interactive familiarization trip program to introduce the new resort to group clients and worked with the brand’s global sales office to generate and support business opportunities for the property. Before joining Rosewood, Mintz was director of convention sales at Alon Las Vegas, a start-up luxury hospitality company. Prior to that, he spent nearly six years with Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, as associate director of sales and the senior sales manager for group, entertainment and corporate bookings. He also spent time at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts properties in Beverly Hills, California, and Las Vegas.

Britta Beringer is director of the Steigenberger Hotel & Resort Camp de Mar in Mallorca, Spain, operated by the RIMC Hotels & Resorts Group. Beringer has been at the resort since 1999, first serving as director of sales and marketing, and then as deputy general manager. Prior to her time in Spain, she was front office and reservation manager at the Robinson Club Tulum in Tulum, Mexico. She also completed a four-month post to help launch the Robinson Club Soma Bay in Hurghada, Egypt.

Opening later this summer, Mar Monte Hotel in Santa Barbara, California, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, appointed Ingrid Braun general manager and Nathan Lingle executive chef. Braun has spent the majority of her 17-year hospitality career in luxury lifestyle hotels in Southern California, overseeing several hotel renovations and openings. Most recently, she was opening hotel manager of the Santa Monica Proper Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Lingle served in several positions at The Ritz-Carlton Resort in Naples, Florida before he was named executive chef and food and beverage director at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia. He also served as chef de cuisine at the Sagamore Resort and Spa in Bolton Landing, New York, and as vice president of food and beverage at L’Auberge Del Mar Resort in Del Mar, California.

Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta named Nancy Chacon general manager. A 30-year veteran with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Chacon began as a front desk agent in San Francisco. Since then, she has held a variety of roles at Four Seasons properties in Los Angeles; Austin, Texas; Scottsdale, Arizona; Caracas, Venezuela; Punta Mita, Mexico; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and most recently, Baltimore, where she was hotel manager. Chacon, who is fluent in English, French and Spanish, hails from Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Bob Harter is director of sales and marketing for Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas, the first new-build Alila resort in the Americas, expected to open in Encinitas, California, in early 2021. Harter oversees the resort’s sales and marketing efforts while developing business strategies designed to open the resort, drive revenue and exceed the resort’s business goals. With 25 years’ experience, Harter is a veteran sales and marketing professional in San Diego’s luxury hotel market, and most recently served as director of sales and marketing at L’Auberge Del Mar in Del Mar, California.

Michelin-starred Chef Tony Mantuano and wine and hospitality expert Cathy Mantuano are partnering with The Pizzuti Cos. to direct the food and beverage program at The Joseph, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Nashville, Tennessee, opening in August. The Mantuanos are developing the creative direction and menus for three dining outlets, along with overseeing in-room dining and private function offerings. The Mantuanos brought fine Italian cuisine to Chicago via their restaurant, Spiaggia. The couple trained in Italy in the early 1980s and have returned every year since to learn in kitchens spanning family trattorias to Michelin-starred restaurants.

Devin Walline is executive chef of The Harpeth Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Franklin, Tennessee. Walline brings more than a decade of experience in food and beverage to the hotel. He most recently was executive sous chef at QED Hospitality, where he oversaw menu development, as well as all kitchen staff, helping to drive more than US$14 million in sales. Before QED Hospitality, Walline was executive chef and general manager at Edgehill Café in Nashville, Tennessee.
