Briefs: NREP buys in Sweden | Kerzner CEO

NREP acquires Stockholm’s Clarion Hotel Amaranten: Nordic real estate investor NREP has acquired the 461-room Clarion Hotel Amaranten hotel in Stockholm, Sweden, from a group controlled by Norwegian entrepreneur Petter Stordalen, the owner of Nordic Choice Hotels, according to reporting from HVS. The purchase price is SEK1.5 billion, (US$174 million). The property will continue to be managed by Nordic Choice Hotels under a long-term lease contract and will undergo a renovation focusing on energy efficiency and a general upgrade of guest-facing facilities, including a renovation of all bathrooms.

New CEO at Kerzner: Dubai-based Kerzner International Holdings Ltd. has restructured its strategic leadership team. Michael Wale, who has been CEO since February 2018, will join the board of directors and current Chief Operating Officer Philippe Zuber will now be CEO. Finally, Michel Checoury, who has been chief financial officer since October 2018, will add the title of chief administrative officer to his role.
