MGM launches work-stay program

MGM resorts has launched new business packages targeting business people working remotely at its Bellagio and ARIA resorts in Las Vegas. There are three packages, the cheapest five-day stay starting at around US$100 per night, going up to around US$400 a night for the top-tier package. The idea behind the campaign is to bring in visitors to work during the days in hotel rooms and spend the evenings at the resorts’ casinos, restaurants or otherwise just getting away from home.

Trouble at Oyo

Massive layoffs, disgruntled hotel partners, poor customer experiences, governance issues and failure to deliver the core brand promise are all issues plaguing India’s third-largest startup, according to reporting from Forbes. The roots can be traced back to expanding too quickly. Besides capital, enabled by Softbank, which owns 50% in Oyo, that expansion required massive recruitments, overselling by a stressed and overzealous sales team, onboarding new hotel partners with guarantees and promises which were not kept, and sometimes side-stepping governance issues.
