Marriott program aims at remote workers

Marriott International has announced a new program, via Marriott Bonvoy, that targets remote workers.

When asked, 42% of more than 400 business professionals – Marriott Bonvoy members and non-members – in the U.S. who participate in the company’s research community indicated they would consider working from a hotel guest room to address their current realities which include not having a dedicated workspace environment, no boundary between work and personal life, especially for families managing remote learning for kids, inability to work uninterrupted, and competing for insufficient Wi-Fi.

The programs are Day Pass, Stay Pass and Play Pass, with Day Pass being a remote “office” booking with 6 a.m. check-in and 6 p.m. check-out. Stay Pass combines a Day Pass with an overnight stay, free breakfast and complimentary evening drinks, wherever available. Play Pass targets remote workers with family, meaning guests have access to a business concierge, supervised kids’ activities, and preferred office/study spaces.

Day Pass is currently being offered in some hotels in Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas, New York, Toronto, London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, with planned expansion in Europe, Middle East and Latin America. Stay Pass is available at nearly 2,000 hotels worldwide; Play Pass is available in many locations.
