Briefs: Accor partners with Qantas | Hyatt’s Destination enters Florida

Accor partners with Qantas: Sydney-based airline Qantas and Accor are entering a partnership to mutually reward their loyalty members. Scheduled to launch mid-2021, it will be the first partnership of its kind between an airline and hospitality group in the Asia Pacific region. The new partnership will give eligible members of both programs the opportunity to boost their rewards by simultaneously earning both Qantas Points and Accor Live Limitless Reward Points on Accor hotel bookings and flight bookings. The partnership will apply for hotel stays across the Asia Pacific region and across Qantas’ domestic and international flights.

Hyatt and Banyan Cay Resort: A Hyatt Hotels Corp. affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with Florida-based Banyan Cay Development to develop Banyan Cay Resort & Golf, a Destination Hotel. Expected to open in late 2021, this property will mark the entry of the Destination Hotels brand into Florida and will be the first full-service Hyatt-branded property in Palm Beach County. The 150-room hotel will have a 5,000 square-foot spa and fitness center, tennis pavilion, swimming pools, and three food and beverage venues, including signature restaurants and golf clubhouse dining.

Cabot adds one in British Columbia: Toronto-based Cabot, the developer and operator of master-planned golf resort communities, will open its third resort with Cabot Revelstoke in British Columbia. The 150-room hotel will be located at the base of Mount Mackenzie. The Lodge will offer a mix of rooms and suites and amenities will include a ski concierge, a range of dining venues, a full-service pro shop, The Spa at Cabot Revelstoke, an all-season outdoor pool and hot tub complex and more. The hotel will also include an 18-hole golf course designed by Rod Whitman and his company, Whitman Axland & Cutten. 

Aimbridge expands receiver services: Dallas, Texas-based Aimbridge Hospitality, a management company, is expanding its Aimbridge Receiver Services, focused on stabilizing hotels with distressed debt and recovering lost value due to the ongoing challenges in the hospitality industry. The new platform provides lenders and special servicers assistance in navigating distressed assets and is dedicated to hotel distressed assets.
