Aevis acquires the Hotel Schweizerhof
Swiss-based Aevis Victoria Sa has signed an agreement to acquire the Hotel Schweizerhof, a luxury hotel in Zermatt, Switzerland, built in 1982 and renovated in 2018. Aevis acquired both the operating and the real estate company of Hotel Schweizerhof, both of whom were indirectly held by Michel Reybier. The 95-room hotel has three restaurants and a wellness area.
Pebblebrook issues US$350M in new debt
Pebblebrook Hotel Trust is issuing US$350 million in new debt as the coronavirus pandemic continues to have an outsized impact on the hospitality industry. The Bethesda, Maryland-based lodging real estate investment trust said Thursday it would offer US$350 million in convertible senior notes due in 2026, and tacked on a potential US$52.5 million in the notes to be offered to the underwriters of the offering. Pebblebrook intends to use the proceeds to reduce outstanding debt on its existing revolving credit facility and other unsecured loans, it said in a press release.

Sandals signs for new resort on Curaçao
Sandals Resorts International has signed an agreement that will bring the Montego Bay, Jamaica-based company to the Santa Barbara Resort on the island of Curaçao. This will mark the ninth island destination for the brand in the Caribbean region. The new Sandals Curaçao will initially include 350 rooms and suites, with a further expansion planned in the coming years. Formerly the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, part of a broader 3,000-acre development, renovation of the resort will begin in 2021.
East West to manage Beaver Creek resort
East West Hospitality was awarded the management contract for The Charter at Beaver Creek in Colorado’s Vail Valley. The Charter has more than 150 individually owned one- to five-bedroom condominiums with 24-hour front desk, concierge services, dining, event space and a spa, which East West opened in 2019. East West manages more than 40 properties in the Vail Valley.
