People on the move: Wyndham, Driftwood, Grace Bay

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has appointed Pamudji Slamet as director of development, Indonesia and the Philippines. Slamet joins Wyndham’s Asia Pacific division, which has a portfolio of over 1,500 hotels across 20 markets and territories. In his new role, he will be responsible for growing the company’s portfolio through new development and conversion opportunities across franchise and management agreements in Indonesia and the Philippines.

Slamet has more than 30 years’ experience in the hospitality sector. Prior to joining Wyndham, he was Accor’s director of development, Indonesia.

“Pamudji’s appointment comes at a ripe time for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as we continue to fast track our growth across the region,” said Matt Holmes, Wyndham’s head of development, South East Asia & Pacific Rim. “Indonesia and the Philippines are key strategic markets, and Pamudji’s extensive experience in the development sphere will greatly benefit our owners and partners as they leverage the power of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ brands, distribution and loyalty program.”

Virgin Hotels New Orleans, Louisiana, appointed Cody Bertone general manager and Barry Rodriguez director of sales. Bertone’s most recent position was general manager at the Pontchartrain Hotel in the Garden District, New Orleans. Rodriguez was previously director of sales and marketing at the Loews New Orleans Hotel.

Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado, welcomed Meg Caldwell as the property’s new national sales manager. Caldwell was previously the director of business development with ConferenceDirect, Los Angeles, California.

Driftwood Hospitality Management, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, announced the appointment of two executive team members who will lead the opening of the new Hillsboro Beach Resort, Florida. Duncan Clements will serve as general manager and Tricia Shaw will serve as the director of sales and catering. Clements most recently managed Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa and YVE Hotel Miami in South Florida. Shaw previously served as the director of catering and conference services for Kimpton Hotels & Resorts, initially with the Tideline Ocean Resort and Spa in Palm Beach, Florida.

Oxford Capital Group, Chicago, Illinois, announced several promotions: Kris Cummings as senior vice president – accounting and treasury, Sam Sider as vice president – asset management and accounting and Tom Stark as senior staff accountant. Cummings previously served as senior staff accountant at Oxford. Prior to joining Oxford, Sider was a senior portfolio accountant in the private real estate-equity group at Heitman, Chicago.

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Alberta, Canada, announced the appointment of Jennifer David as public relations manager. David joins from her current role as the principal for JD Relations, her own consultancy.

Arbor Lodging Management, Chicago, Illinois, announced the promotion of Andreo Girardi to regional director of operations. Before this, Girardi had been overseeing the dual brand Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites, Mag Mile, Chicago, for Arbor Lodging Management.

Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge, Massachusetts, announced the appointment of Melissa Green as general manager. Green joins from her most recently held position as dual general manager of Hyatt House/Hyatt Place in Colorado.

Pyramid Hotel Group, Boston, Massachusetts, announced the promotion of John Hamilton to executive vice president of business development. In his new position, he will play an increased role overseeing the company’s new management assignments, acquisitions and business developments.

The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, California, has a new team of senior-level appointments, led by Sam Jagger as the property’s new general manager, along with Amy Funke as director of marketing, and Carla Ortiz as director of talent and culture. Jagger was previously the managing director and senior vice president of sales and marketing at Mr. C Hotels, New York. Funke most recently served as the director of marketing at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Ortiz was most recently director of human resources for Proper Hospitality in San Francisco, California.

R.A. Rauch & Associates, a San Diego, California-based hotel management and consulting firm, promoted Dallas King to area general manager of Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott San Diego-San Marcos, Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego-Del Mar, and Hilton Garden Inn San Diego-Del Mar. King most recently opened the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott San Diego-San Marcos as general manager.

Absolute Hotel Services, Bangkok, Thailand, announced the promotion of Anders Lund as area general manager – Bali. Lund was previously general manager of Eastin Ashta Resort Canggu, another Absolute Hotel Services hotel. He will continue this role and oversee all current and future operating properties in Bali. The company also announced the promotion of Chandra Sekar Pratiwi as executive assistant manager of U Paasha Seminyak Bali. She was previously front office manager and then room division manager at the resort.

The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Avon, Vail Valley, Colorado, has promoted Wendy Mallas to director of sales & marketing. The resort has also promoted Jing Butler to associate director of sales, and hired Scott Copertino to serve as dining room & banquet manager. Mallas was previously The Westin Riverfront’s director of leisure sales. Butler has been promoted from senior sales manager. Copertino comes to The Westin Riverfront from the Grand Hyatt Vail, Colorado, where he most recently served as national sales manager. 

Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Orlando, Florida, announced the promotion of Dorea Mays to director of human resources from her previous role as associate director of human resources.

G6 Hospitality, Dallas, Texas, the parent company of Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the United States and Canada, announced the promotion of Mike Moore to chief human resources officer. In his new role, Moore is responsible for the organization’s people strategy.

Migis Hotel Group, Portland, Maine, has promoted Landace Porta to director of operations. Porta had previously been the general manager of the Migis-operated Black Point Inn in Scarborough, Maine.

Concord Hospitality Enterprises, Raleigh, North Carolina, has announced that Debra Punke has been promoted to chief human resource officer. Punke was most recently Concord’s senior vice president of human capital.

hihotels by Hospitality International, Atlanta, Georgia, announced Les Scane as a franchise development and assurance and marketing program director. He previously worked as SSAP director (Sales Support & Assurance Program) for Vantage Hospitality Group, Coral Springs, California.

Grace Bay Resorts announced the appointment of Crawford Sherman as the managing director of Rock House, the newest development for the Turks and Caicos-based brand. Sherman’s most recent work included the US$80 million development of The Line in Washington D.C., where he led the pre-opening operation alongside the construction and development teams.

Michael Tang has been appointed as the general manager of Dorsett Putrajaya, Malaysia. He was previously the general manager of Upper View Regalia Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and The Ritz-Carlton, Bal Harbour, both in Miami, Florida, announced Erica Tortora as communications manager. Tortora previously worked with The Brandman Agency and Hawkins International, both New York-based.

The Gant Aspen, Aspen, Colorado, has selected Christopher Vlasich to lead the resort’s food and beverage operations. Vlasich most recently served as general manager of Prospect Restaurant within Hotel Jerome, Aspen.

Pacifica Hotels, Aliso Viejo, California, announced the appointment of Scott Warner as vice president of operations. Warner previously served as the vice president of operations at Peachtree Hotel Group, Atlanta, Georgia.
