Gathering of the clan in LA

I am writing from Los Angeles after the first day of the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), where the organizers generously said 1,800 have gathered to reconnect with their brethren, find new deals and take the pulse of this turbulent industry. I didn’t hear much from the stage as I was busy in one-on-one meetings, but I did hear economist Todd Buchholz paint an optimistic picture for the near-term as long as inflation does not get out of hand and causes the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates. He likes where consumers are at emotionally and economically and encourages hoteliers…
