The board of directors of Azimut Hotels appointed Walter Neumann as the company’s new CEO, beginning work on Thursday. Sebastian Kraemer, COO and acting CEO of Azimut through mid-October, will continue as COO.
Neumann joins Azimut Hotels, Moscow, from Rocco Forte Hotels, London, where he was general director for the 169-room Rocco Forte Hotel Astoria and the 193-room Angleterre hotels in St. Petersburg, Russia. Prior to that, he worked in Germany in senior management positions with Lindner Hotels, the Arabella Sheraton Group, and as managing director of the Travel Charme Hotels & Resorts chain.
“My work will be focused on maintaining a steady pace of development for the company through a large-scale renovation program for all the hotels in the Azimut chain and a series of new hotel projects currently under development in Russia and Europe,” Nuemann said.
