Arrivals in UK could be asked to stay in quarantine hotels
People arriving in the United Kingdom could be asked to stay in quarantine hotels under plans being considered by ministers to try to deal with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the foreign secretary, Dominic Raab, has said. The report says the quarantine hotels, modeled on New Zealand’s policy of “directed isolation,” could use GPS and facial-recognition technology to ensure that people are staying isolated.
Staycations, business trips helped Oyo stay afloat
Business trips to big cities by owners of small enterprises and family “staycations” during the lockdown months helped hospitality startup Oyo weather the pandemic, according to the founder and chief executive, Ritesh Agarwal. Speaking at a panel discussion at the Prarambha: Startup India International Summit, Agarwal said that Oyo’s domestic revenue “was down to nothing” in the initial months of the coronavirus-induced lockdown that crippled the travel and hospitality industry in India.
