People on the move: Rosewood, Baur au Lac, Kerten Hospitality 

Rosewood Hotel Group, Hong Kong, has promoted Hoss Vetry to vice president of operations for the group’s Asia Pacific region. Vetry was previously regional vice president and managing director of Rosewood Hong Kong and was responsible for managing the property in addition to overseeing other hotels in the area, including Rosewood Beijing, Rosewood Sanya, and New World Millennium Hotel in Hong Kong. Moving forward, Vetry will oversee all operations for Rosewood Hotel Group properties in the Asia Pacific region, including Greater China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Philippines. 

Vetry is a veteran hospitality professional with over 32 years of global luxury hotel experience. Before joining Rosewood Hotel Group in 2020, for 25 yeard he worked with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. in North America, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. He held several senior executive leadership positions during his tenure with Ritz-Carlton, including multi-property vice president, cluster general manager, and hotel general manager.

Vetry has held leadership roles in hotel and tourism associations, including vice chairman of East China Marriott Business Council, executive chairman of Sanya Tourism Association and board member of Qatar Tourism Association.

Shel Buhler has been promoted to brand director of Aparium, Chicago, Illinois. She was previously director of bars and beverage programming. 

Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort, St. Lucia, welcomed Christy Connolly as director of sales. For the past seven years she worked with Resorts & Residences by CuisinArt in Anguilla, as the director of sales.

Kimpton Canary Hotel, Santa Barbara, California, has appointed Richard Woodrow Cox as general manager of the hotel. He joins the team after his tenure as general manager of The Westgate Hotel, San Diego, California. 

Kerten Hospitality, Dublin, Ireland, has appointed Antony Doucet as chief experience officer. Doucet assumes the role after his experience within Kerten as brand and marketing director. 

Adam Edelman has joined Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, California, as the resort’s new director of rooms. Most recently, Edelman was the interim general manager and director of operations and events at Hyatt Regency Orange County, California.  

Stacie Hallinan has joined The Colony Palm Beach, Florida, as director of catering sales. Hallinan joins The Colony after serving as director of catering at The Eau Palm Beach, Florida, for the past eight years 

Friday Harbor House, Washington, has chosen Reid Johnson as general manager. Most recently, Johnson held the title of general manager at The Willows Inn on Lummi Island, also in Washington. 

Centara Hotel Korat, Bangkok, Thailand, has chosen Thawintorn Kanungkid as the opening general manager. Kanungkid brings with him two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, most recently as resident manager at The Sukosol Bangkok Hotel. 

The Baur au Lac in Zürich, Switzerland, has made two leadership changes with the ushering in of the seventh-generation family ownership along with the arrival of a new general manager. Marguita Kracht joins her father, Andrea Kracht, working side-by-side in the management and strategic direction of the hotel. Kracht has gathered experience at prestigious hotels like the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, the Lanesborough in London, Switzerland-based Aman Resorts, and the project team of The Peninsula London. Christian von Rechenberg is taking on the role of general manager, after his tenure as deputy director at the Baur au Lac. 

Premier, Dallas, Texas, has hired Roland Mouly as senior vice president of strategic partnerships. Before joining Premier, Mouly served as the regional practice leader at HotelAVE, Providence, Rhode Island.  

Radisson Blu Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota, has promoted Caroline Naslund to assistant director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Naslund served as the director of catering. 

Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach, California, has announced Aaron Obregon as the new executive chef. Most recently, Obregon served as the executive chef at the Inn at Mission San Juan Capistrano, California.  

The American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) has made a series of appointments: Leeann Paradise has been named vice president of political and member engagement; Haleigh Hildebrand has been named senior director of government and political affairs; and Bianca Castillo has joined the association as state and local government affairs coordinator. Paradise joins AHLA from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, where she ran the organization’s grassroots programs and issue advocacy campaigns. Hildebrand joins AHLA from the American Federation of Federal, State and Municipal Employees, where she served as assistant political director.  

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, Renton, Washington, has selected Azad Rawat as the hotel’s executive chef. He was previously area chef de cuisine at the Hyatt Regency Seattle, Washington.  

The Ranch, Malibu, California, has appointed Chris Reed as vice president of global sales. Reed joins after his experience as director of sales and marketing (pre-opening and opening) at Equinox Hotels’ flagship location in New York City.  

Koʻa Kea Resort on Poʻipu Beach of Meritage Collection, Kauai, Hawaii, has welcomed John Sweiss as director of restaurants. His latest role was that of general operations at New York City’s Gotham Hospitality. 

Radisson Corning has appointed Marisa Thomas as general manager. Thomas joins after her tenure as general manager of Canopy by Hilton in Ithaca, New York.   

Cross Hotels & Resorts has announced several promotions: Paul Wilson is the new executive vice president; Ratchaya Termsilkanok is taking on the role of vice president strategy and digital transformation; Evan Burns was chosen as country manager Indonesia; and Tran Lam as director of technical services and business development. Wilson previously held the position of executive vice president commercial, Termisilkanok was vice president revenue and e-commerce, Burns was general manager for Away Bali Legian as well as area manager for Indonesia and Japan, while Lam was technical director and business development.
