People on the move: Rosewood, Four Seasons, Best Western

Hong Kong-based Rosewood Hotel Group announced the appointment of Lucy Werner as senior vice president of commercial and the transfer of Caroline MacDonald from the global sales and marketing team to senior vice president of operations, Americas. In addition, Rosewood announced the promotions of several team members, including Agnes Park as vice president, deputy general counsel – global, Tony Chick as regional vice president and Stephan Tschuppik as regional vice president.

Werner previously held senior leadership positions at Google, Spruce Media, adBrite and JP Morgan.

MacDonald originally joined Rosewood Hotel Group in 2016 as vice president of sales and marketing, Americas and Europe. She was promoted to vice president of global sales and marketing in 2019, followed by a promotion to her last role in January 2020.

Caroline has been integral in building our group’s reputation over the past few years and I am confident she will lead her team to new heights in this operations role.”

In Park’s new role, she will provide leadership and oversight in the legal department in all areas, including development, operations, portfolio management, operations and data privacy. Prior to joining Rosewood Hotel Group in 2017, Park worked at a number of leading law firms focusing on mergers, acquisitions and private equity.

Chick, formerly regional general manager of New World Beijing, will now oversee multiple properties for the upper-upscale New World Hotels & Resorts brand and KHOS, a lifestyle concept by Rosewood, including New World Beijing, New World Dalian, New World Guiyang, New World Wuhan, KHOS Langfang and KHOS Shenyang. Chick joined Rosewood in 2012 as resident manager of New World Beijing and served as general manager to KHOS Langfang from 2015 to 2020 before taking on his most recent role. He has more than 30 years of hospitality experience and has worked for a variety of hotels, including BC Hotel & Residences Beijing, EAST Beijing, EAST Hong Kong, Hyatt Regency Tianjin and The Kerry Centre Hotel, A Shangri-La Hotel.

Serving as managing director since 2018 and appointed later as area managing director, Tschuppik will oversee the operations of various properties in the New World, KHOS and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts portfolios. An Austrian native, he has 25 years of industry experience in markets ranging from the U.A.E., Oman and Vietnam, to South Korea, Taiwan and mainland China. In his most recent role, Tschuppik led the opening of Rosewood Guangzhou in September 2019, the tallest 5-star hotel in the world and the second urban outpost in mainland China for the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts brand. Prior to joining Rosewood, he spent 16 years in management at Hyatt properties in China and South Korea.

Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies, has named Picco Alapatt as executive chef. Alapatt was recently executive chef at the Gulf Court Hotel, Business Bay, Dubai, UAE.

The Hermitage Hotel, Nashville, Tennessee, announced the appointment of Kelsi Armijo as executive chef. Armijo most recently led the culinary team at Southern California’s The Peninsula Beverly Hills as executive chef.

Greenwich Hospitality Group, Stamford, Connecticut, announced the appointment of Israel Benyair as vice president of operations for Delamar Hotels, independent boutique hotels in Connecticut and Michigan. He will also serve as the general manager of Delamar West Hartford in Connecticut. He comes to Delamar Hotels from The Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Resort Collection, located in Washington, Connecticut, where he most recently served as general manager.

New York Hilton Midtown, New York, announced the appointment of Peter Betz as director of culinary. His most recent experience includes director of operations at Intercontinental Times Square, New York.

Auberge Resorts Collection announced the promotion and appointment of two key team members in Mexico. Lauren Carr Morado has been promoted to senior area director of sales & marketing, Latin America. Laurie Guidry is also the area director of sales, Mexico. Previously, Carr Morado spent six years as director of sales and marketing at Rosewood Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos. Guidry joins the brand from The J Collection in New Orleans.

The Shore Club Turks & Caicos, announced that Danitra Clare will be rejoining the property as HR Director. Danitra worked at The Shore Club from 2018-2021 before joining the opening team at The Ritz-Carlton, Turks and Caicos, as director of human resource operations.

The Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head Hotel, Hawaii, announced that it has named Carly Clement as general manager. Clement was most recently the general manager at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu.

BWH Hotel Group, Phoenix, Arizona, announced that Lawrence Cuculic has been appointed president and chief executive officer by the company’s board of directors. Prior to joining BWH Hotel Group, Cuculic was senior vice president general counsel and corporate secretary for Wabash National Corp., Lafayette, Indiana. He will succeed retiring CEO David Kong.

Noelle Nashville, Tennessee, announced the appointment of executive chef Diego Fernandez. Previously, he was executive chef at Big Sky, Montana’s Lone Mountain Ranch.

Chris Ferrier has been appointed executive chef of Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Virginia. Ferrier most recently worked at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center, Washington, D.C.

Azul Hospitality Group, San Diego, California, announced that Alvaro Fraile will be joining the company as chief operating officer. Fraile joins Azul from Marriott International, where he most recently served as vice president of franchise operations.

Auro Hotels, Greenville, South Carolina, announced the appointment of Aaron Greenman as executive vice president, investments and development. Greenman comes to this role from Aimbridge Hotels & Resorts, where he served internationally as executive vice president, acquisitions and development.

WATG, Irvine, California, a destination design firm, has announced the appointment of Jeremy Heyes as managing director of the London office. Heyes joined WATG in 1992 and is currently serving his third term on the board of directors. More recently, Heyes was at the helm of WATG and Wimberly Interiors’ concept for intu Costa del Sol in Torremolinos, Spain.

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, announced the promotion of Steve Hilton to senior vice president of operations. Hilton previously served as managing director of the company’s Omaha Marriott Downtown at the Capitol District hotel.

Adero Scottsdale, an Autograph Collection hotel, announced the appointment of Stacey Kokosinski as director of sales and marketing. She previously worked at Sheraton San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler, Arizona.

French Polynesia resort Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea announced the appointment of Sabine Lamberts as general manager. She most recently served as general manager of the luxury resort Santiburi Koh Samui in Thailand.

Peachtree Hotel Group, Atlanta, Georgia, announced that Randy Lee has joined the company as vice president of investments. Lee most recently served as real estate principal at G6 Hospitality, Carrollton, Texas.

Toronto, Canada-based Cabot, developer and operator of luxury residential, resort and golf destinations, announced that David O’Donoghue has been appointed executive vice president, hospitality. He most recently served as the president and chief executive officer for the Palmetto Bluff Development Co., Bluffton, South Carolina.

Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, Canada, appointed Patrick Pollak as general manager. Pollak joins the from Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou, Guangzhou, China.

The Asbury Collection, Asbury Park, New Jersey, has announced the appointment of Ferran Sanfelimon as managing director. Sanfelimon most recently he served as general manager of Luxe Life Hotel NoMad, New York.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay has appointed Nicolas Senes to the new position of resort manager. He spent the last four years working as food & beverage director at the resort. Two senior chefs have also been promoted up to executive roles: Made Adi Jaya has been appointed executive sous chef. Adi Jaya was promoted from his position as chef de cuisine at Sundara. Wayan Sutariawan has been promoted to executive sous chef of Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan.

Marriott Owings Mills Metro Centre, Owings Mills, Maryland, announced the appointment of Bernard Smith as executive chef. Smith previously served as executive chef at The Grand in Maryland.

Gulph Creek Hotels, a Pennsylvania-based hotel management and development group, has named Ajay Tandon as regional vice president of operations. He has over 30 years of hospitality experience with a wide range of brands, from resorts to full- and select-service hotels.

The Set Collection, Paris, France, announced that Jean-Pierre Trevisan will lead Lutetia as general manager. He joins from Hotel De Crillon, Paris.
