Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has opened Rosewood Phuket in Thailand on the beachfront on Emerald Bay and debuted Asaya, the brand’s holistic wellness concept, featuring alternative therapies, lifestyle coaching, fitness activities and healing treatments.
The first ultra-luxury Southeast Asia resort for Rosewood has 71 pool pavilions and villas with sea-facing views and personal garden terraces; four dining venues; an organic beachside infinity pool; a rainwater harvest system as well as a solar renewable energy system and landscaped rooftops that provide energy conservation; a resort-sponsored coral reef restoration project; and The Pavilion for events.
Rosewood’s new holistic wellness concept, Asaya, has six suites, including one signature wellness suite which caters to small groups of friends with dedicated treatment areas, outdoor relaxation space and Watsu pool.
Melbourne-based BAR Studio applied its aesthetics to the resort’s design to play up its diverse range of landscapes. Architecture is contemporary and environmentally sensitive, blending organically with the natural surroundings. An abundance of floor-to-ceiling windows and open-sided spaces merge interiors with the outdoors.
Each sea-facing, residential-style room features interiors that blend east and west, contemporary and traditional. Their garden terraces have daybeds, infinity pools and Andaman Sea views.
The 130-square-meter Ocean View Pool Pavilions feature spacious bedroom and living room areas and an exterior courtyard with deep soaking bathtub and rain shower. The 796-square-meter Ocean House comprises a master bedroom, twin bedroom, separate living and dining rooms and garden courtyards and shady terraces, and guests can choose a plunge in their private infinity pool or taking a few short steps to the warm, crystal-clear waters of Emerald Bay.
