People on the Move: Fattal, Triple Creek Ranch, Sandcastle

Ronen Nissenbaum has been appointed chief executive officer of Tel Aviv-based Fattal Hotels for the United Kingdom, Ireland, Benelux and Spain.

In his new role, Nissenbaum will be responsible for the operational activities and development of the company, in addition to examining its possibilities for expansion to the United States. Working out of Fattal’s head office, he will succeed Danny Roger, former managing director of Fattal Hotels Europe & UK.

After studying hotel management in Switzerland, Nissenbaum earned a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University. Throughout his career, he worked in leadership roles at several hospitality brands, including InterContinental Hotels Group and Hilton Worldwide. Most recently, he was the president and CEO of Dan Hotels, Tel Aviv.

Holiday Inn & Suites Across From Universal Orlando, Florida, has welcomed a new general manager, Zury Cohen. Most recently, Cohen served as the general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn, Lakeland, Florida.

W South Beach, Miami Beach, Florida, has named Isabel Gracia its new director of sales and marketing and Constanza Montalva director of programming. Gracia used to be the director of sales and marketing at Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico, while Montalva was previously at Aurora Anguilla, Eastern Caribbean.

The Grand Hotel Birmingham, UK, has appointed Charlotte Horler their new deputy general manager. Prior to this, Horler was the deputy general manager at New Hall Hotel & Spa, U.K.

The Kennebunkport Resort Collection, Kennebunkport, Maine, has named Derek Hunt its new general manager for in-town properties. Hunt was previously general manager at Union Bluff Hotel in York, Maine.

The Viceroy Hotel Group has appointed Miju Kim the new area director of group sales for Hotel Zelos, Hotel Zetta and Hotel Zeppelin in San Francisco. Kim was previously the area account director of group sales with Highgate Hawaii.

The Slate Denver, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Colorado, has appointed Kirby Kiner its new general manager, Von Fabella director of sales and marketing, and Hannah Miles assistant general manager. Kiner was previously general manager at Doubletree by Hilton Aurora, Denver; Fabella used to work at 21c Museum Hotel Chicago; and Miles worked as the assistant general manager at DoubleTree by Hilton Denver, Aurora, Colorado.

Sandcastle Resorts and Hotels, Destin, Florida, has appointed Gary Koester its new executive vice president. Koester previously assisted with property expansions at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, Walton County, Florida.

The Trade Milwaukee (Wisconsin), an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott, has hired Rich Lundt as the new general manager. Previously a general manager at Atrium Hospitality, Lundt serves as area general manager for North Central Group.

Estuary at the Conrad Washington, D.C., has announced a new culinary team, which now includes Director of Food and Beverage Josh Murray, Executive Chef James Kerwin, Chef de Cuisine Ria Montes, Senior Sous Chef Sean Tew, Estuary General Manager Domingo Lamrissi Garcia, and Beverage Director Nial Harris-Garcia.

Nobu Hotel Palo Alto, California, has hired Hieu Phan as Nobu Restaurant’s executive sushi chef. Previously, Hieu held positions at Nobu Las Vegas, Nevada.

BWH Hotel Group, Phoenix, Arizona, has promoted Ron Pohl to serve as the company’s president of international operations and president of WorldHotels. Pohl joined the organization in 2007 and previously served as senior vice president and chief operations officer.

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has named Chris Schaefer vice president of food and beverage. Schaefer most recently served as corporate director of food and beverage at Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Seattle, Washington.

Triple Creek Ranch, Darby, Montana, has named new co-general managers: Molly Smith and Kristen Snavely. Smith returns to Triple Creek Ranch after having served as general manager for four years. A member of the Ranch team for 24 years, Snavely most recently served as assistant general manager.

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley, East Palo Alto, California, has named Andrew Whiteside its executive chef. Most recently, Whiteside was the executive sous chef at Four Seasons Resort Maui, Wailea, Maui County, Hawaii.

Chateau Elan, North Georgia, has hired Robert Woolridge as its new general manager. Woolridge used to be the general manager at the W Atlanta – Buckhead, Georgia.
